Australia Here Comes A Star Child!

I have been neglecting this blog.

I had thought it would be a good way of ventilating my thoughts and views. I also thought it would be a good way to discipline myself, writing regularly to my blog, on varying topics.

Well, I have been so busy with life, as is everyone, but I don't like to think I'm lazy (OK, I am a little bit).

I want to share with people that I am emigrating. Yes, I am leaving the UK. Is the grass greener? Well . . . maybe. Only one way to find out. The process seems to be progressing somewhat, and, all things going according to plan, I hope to be in Oz for June / July '09.

Of course, I am only lucky enough to have this opportunity because of my job as a nurse. Many people (nurses) have made the same choice, and from what I can gather, very few have had regrets.

I will be taking my partner with me, but our dogs will be staying behind with family. Although I feel sad about this, in a lot of ways this will also be positive. To an extent I am being selfish, but perhaps in life you should be occasionally selfish. I have spent such a long time considering others I find it too easy now to forget my own importance. So I am grabbing this opportunity with both hands and am going to enjoy the ride.
