The morning was a blur of bacon sandwiches and shredded wrapping paper.
Sam and myself exchanged gifts in a fairly civilised manner, considering how much of a big kid I am at this time of year. I must have been a really good boy this year, as I recieved many wonderful presents. My favourite would have to be my new video camera. I had a YouTube account, but thought this would be the ideal time to set up one, linked primarily to this blog. You can search for my channel under "Views Of A Star Child". I hope to be uploading videos in the next week or two. You never know, I may be the next YouTube Star.
There is a lot of real talent on YouTube, and I can only dream that I could produce videos anywhere near the standard I have seen. But maybe one day.
I also received some oil paints and canvases. I had been talking of wanting to produce something. Of making something. Stretching my creative, artistic soul. Sam was obviously listening. So, with a bit of study, hard graft and some inspiration from above, I will become a painter. Sounds very romantic, doesn't it. I will post pictures and / or videos of anything I create.
As expected, I had a very pleasant BBQ with friends, by their pool. It was a bit cooler than ideal for swimming, so we kept to the land.
The food was beautiful. Lots of veggies, carrot, pumpkin, potato, etc, with chicken, ham and pork. The list could go on. My favourite item on the menu were the King Prawns. They were gorgeous. I had to shell, decapitate and de-tail them, but it was worth it. Yummy!
I am very grateful to my friends for showing their kindness, and having us over for our first Christmas in Oz.
I find it sad that Christmas is only one day a year, but it isn't just a day. It is not just the 25th of December. Christmas is a state of mind.

Today was fun. We went to see AVATAR, in 3D. This film has had such huge hype, that I expected it to be average. This is how it usually goes. Paranormal Activity, for example, had massive hype, and was such a let down for me. However! AVATAR, deserves the hype. Oh yes!Sam Worthington, as the lead, puts in an impressive, believable and driven performance.
Sigourney Weaver never disappoints.
The story is well thought out and developed.
But of course, a lot of the hype referred to the special effects and technology involved in the creation of this epic film. I can't fault it. The FX were stunning. If you like such geeky behind the scenes information, please google it, but I won't risk boring you here with it. Needless to say, the immense budget, can actually be evidenced on screen.
Go to the cinema and enjoy it. You will not be sorry. Worth every usually unjustifiable

Maybe I live under a rock. I just found out today that the enthusiastic guy in the shamwow infomercials got into a bit of trouble earlier this year.
You know who I am speaking about. Everyone has seen those Ads.
Vince Shlomi apparently had been entertaining a lady of the night (hooker) at a $750 a night hotel. He had paid her, reportedly, $1000 for sex. She then, for some reason, had bit his tongue. He proceeded, thereafter, to strike her repeatedly.
Oh dear! And to think I see that infomercial most nights.
From Shamwow... To Sham-ouch!
Hasn't aged well, has he? Suppose that explains the prostitute...
