I Wish I knew About Cars
I wish I knew about cars.
I like the look of cars. I like being able to get around. I like the smell of a new car.
Hell, cars are sexy!
But I just don't know much about them.
I remember going into a shop, back home, looking for a bulb for the head light of my car. The shop assistant asked me what make it was.
Fine. I knew that.
Then she asked me what age or model it was, as this would affect the choice of bulb she gave me. I didn't know. She looked at me, with a quizzical raised eyebrow, but continued.
She asked what my registration plate number was, as she would know the age of the car from this. Nope. I didn't know this either. I didn't even know my own registration plate number.
We had to go out to the car park to get the number!
But I knew the car was red. So I thought I was doing good with that.
So yes, now we have a car, again. Thankfully. And I would like to be able to do some things myself, like oil changes, and be all manly. But I can't.
Sites like Houston auto repair make it all look easy. They have information on cars, on common problems and questions and have ratings and reviews on specific cars. For example, they have information on an Acura Integra. They list reviews on this car make, and rate the car by looking at it's separate components, like it's Drive Train, Brakes and Engine.
This site even explains in some detail how to perform an oil change.
There is also a quick guide as to what should be included in a tune up.
Great. But I am dumb, when it comes to cars. So I think I need someone to actually show me, and walk me through it all, step by tiny step.
I'm sure there must be a course I can take. Or maybe some butch guy can explain it all to me.
Otherwise, I will just be paying out a fortune every time I want my baby pampered.
Oh dear.

The only thing I know about care is that they go! Most of the time.
Mary
It's easier to take it to the oil change place. LOL.
I can put petrol in. So I am not completely useless.
But that is my limit at the moment.
I got my first motorbike young, & I didn't even know that engines needed water to run until I broke down with a cracked radiator from not putting any water or coolant in it! The NRMA bloke thought i was the dumbest girl he'd ever met.
I did a quick Tafe course about car/ bike basics after that, it was cheap & easy to follow, well worth it!
