Nipples / New Job

Hello everyone.

Thank you for sticking with me. As I said previously, my posting is going to be all over the place for a while.

I started a new job this week.

I have had a few fairly heavy days. As with any new job, I have been running through generic training, general orientation and really just trying to get a handle on what my new role entails. Everyone I have met has been lovely, and very welcoming. That is always a good sign. One of my new colleagues even described my place of work as "Disney Land". What better endorsement could you ask for?

I have had so much information delivered to me in varying forms, including print, CD-ROM, presentations and so on, my head feels like it will burst. And it is all relevant! So I need to make the effort to take it all in.

I am also reminded that I am getting old. I am one of three new people, and the other two are both younger than me. The big 3 0 is fast approaching, and I can't find the breaks, to stop, or even slow down.

Which reminds me. I think my other half is on the cusp of having a mid-life crisis. I don't think I told you guys this yet.

Last week, the other half and I were sitting in the lounge. We were relaxing in front of the television, and, out of the blue, Sam sat up and suggested we get our nipples pierced. In a daze, and not quite believing him, I followed him to the car.

We drove to a shopping centre, with a body piercer, and sure enough, Sam got both nipples pierced. I got one pierced, as I suppose I am a sheep. I used to have my nipples pierced,  but they never seemed to "take".

So far my piercing seems to be fine. There has been no pain, no bleeding, no crusting, nothing. One of Sam's is tender, and he takes every opportunity to mention it (!). The picture above is me. The piercing looks off angle, but it was just the way I was holding my phone (camera).

I haven't had the time to do much else. That isn't a bad thing. I feel even in the last few days I have been more active, physically. My new job is slightly further away, and so have been walking more. My daily routines have changed too, as my shifts are shorter. I find I come home and actually have the energy to do housework, as before it would have to wait til I had a whole day off.

Life feels really positive for me.

I hope you guys are having a positive time in your lives too. If not, remember life finds it's own balance, and that those ups and downs are "Okay", even if they aren't pleasant.

I think it is the Buddhist belief that "...impermanence is the nature of all things...", or words to that effect. In other words, things can't stay bad forever.

The piercing looks great. I had my right one pierced three different times and it just never worked out. Drats!

Hi guys. Yeah, like my piercing. Looks good onme, I think.

Lucy, I am still a nurse. Working in a different area. So glad I made the move.

OUCH!!! I haven't been a nursing mom for 26 years and I think my milk just let down!!!

Sammy, I love tattoos. I would be covered in them if it wouldn't make doing my job a bit tricky. Not everyone would be at ease if a nurse turned up, inked head to toe.

The most painful piercing is the nipple, for most people. But it really is so quick, it's fine. If you can sit for hours for ink, you can sit for 5 seconds for a piercing.

Plus you can take the metal out if you change your mind...

Wanderlust - heteros? Nah, none of that lot read my blog. Don't get me wrong, some of my best friends are heteros, but they wouldn't be found at "Views" (LMAO).

Ms Anthropy - LOL, will I get the mop? While I am speaking to you...I have to say...your pic...well, I don't see too well without glasses...and your pic looks like a...well, it looks kinda like...It looks naughty. Do you know what I mean?

Ummm, no... I don't get what you mean. Care to elaborate? Just be careful not to embarrass an old lady.

Ms Anthropy -

Okay. So, when I see a large version of your pic, I see a dog on legs. Fine.

But, when it is thumbnail size...it may or may not look like a lady's special garden. Sorry. I am sure Freud would have fun with me.

See what you think. You may have to squint. And please keep in mind my eyesight is really poor and I am really tired.

Oh that looks like it hurts. Ouchy. Glad the new job is wonderful and working in Disney Land? How exciting. Say hi to Goofy, Donald, and the gang. Just kidding. So glad things are going swell! Hope your nipple doesn't swell, tho. :)

Thanks Momma. Notmet Goofy yet...but then I might be playing that part...

;-)

Nope, not even when I squint. Glasses might not be a bad idea.
