Now I have found my next favourite.
Have you had the chance to see Breaking Bad?
Someone told me about it months ago, and I forgot all about it. That is until I saw the complete first series for sale in my local BLOCKBUSTER store. So I bought it.
After watching 5 episodes, I noticed it is actually showing on TV at the moment.
Oh well.
I'm glad I bought it.
The premise is the main character discovering he is terribly ill, with lung cancer. As a school teacher, he is already financially stretched (paid as poorly as nurses!), and works two jobs to support his wife (Anna Gunn) and his somewhat disabled son (the handsome RJ Mitte).
Not wanting to leave his family alone and poor, he steps into the dark world of crime, using his knowledge of chemistry (the subject he teaches) to produce and sell illicit drugs.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the episodes I have seen already, and am on the edge of my seat wondering where the story will take the characters. I can't wait to see how far they take the themes of morality, ethics, loyalty, devotion, commitment, and what boundaries they will next push.

The acting, camera work and writing are all top notch. But what really amazes me is Walter White, the lead character, is played by Bryan Cranston.
Don't recognise the name?
What if I say...Malcolm In The Middle?
Bryan Cranston played Hal, Malcolm's father, in what was, and still is, a very popular show for all the family.
The two roles could not be more different. Of course he has been in many other films and TV shows, but these two examples of his work demonstrate his true versatility and talent.
Cranston then -
Cranston now -
Well done Mr. Cranston. Loving your work!
