Produced by Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg, this movie stars the likes of Mr. Harrison Ford and Mr. Daniel Craig.
Everyone loves a good cowboy film. "The Good, The Bad And The Ugly", "Unforgiven", "Dances With Wolves"... and what was the one thing they were missing?
ALIENS!
And here it is.
From the trailer, the film appears to have similarities to "Star Gate", "Independence Day", "Close Encounters Of The Third Kind", and of course "Serenity" and "Firefly", which mix the cowboy and interplanetary adventure genres extremely well.
Not only looks like it will be a fun film, but one which is executed with great panache and style.

Talking of films, I hope to see the latest Harry Potter movie, "Harry Potter And The Deadly Hallows: Part 1", sometime this weekend.
I have to confess, I am quite excited, as it has been my experience that each successive film from the Harry Potter series has been vastly more impressive than the one before. This one should be a cracker!
Further, I heard recently that J.K. Rowling will be writing further Harry Potter books, although her site appears to be playing down this possibility somewhat. I am interested to see what develops. I suspect Harry could gain a position teaching at Hogwarts. I suppose we will have to wait and see what Rowling has in store for our hero and his friends.

Otherwise, I have been keeping busy.
Today I spent a few hours doing some housework, which is always fun (can you taste the sarcasm?), and a couple of hours playing with my new toy - the XBOX 360! This I can honestly say was fun. I have Kinect, which is a wonderful triumph of gaming technology.
It tracks my body, as I move, and so, for some games, I don't need a controller. I can lean to the side, wave my arms, and so on, and my character in the game will interact with his environment as I command and gesticulate my little heart out.
I am the controller!
It's wonderful.
If you are looking for Christmas ideas for the man (or woman) in your life, this would be my suggestion. It will bring out your inner child, and all the family can join in.
Well, I'm off to bring the washing in.
Ah, life in the fast lane!
I hope you are all having a great weekend!
