Losing Weight And Doing Well

As of this morning I am 18 stones (114 kg) in weight, down from 19 stones and 9 lbs ( almost 125 kg) on the 3rd of January.

I am so chuffed.

Yesterday I spent some time trying on clothes hidden at the back of my wardrobe, that I haven't been able to squeeze into for the better part of a year. It felt wonderful. I felt successful. I am proud of Sam too, as he has done equally well.

We have a long way to go. As you can see at the side of my blog, I want to get down to about 13 stones, maybe a bit less. I don't believe I would look healthy at my "ideal" weight of 11 and 1/2 stones. Who knows?! I can judge that better as the kilos continue to fall off.

I am a little surprised, I must confess, that the weight has continued to steadily come off the way it has, as we have had a few treats in recent weeks. But then, perhaps that is the key, avoiding that "starvation mode" that we hear about so often, which I must also say I think is a myth.

What else have I been up to? Not much, other than exercising and working. I could do with a holiday, but have a few months to wait for that. All this exercising makes me tired. Where is all that extra energy you are supposed to get from getting fit? Another myth?

If you have any spare energy, could you throw some to me?

Out of curiosity I have started reading "Tomorrow When The War Began", by James Marsden. I had seen the film recently, and loved it. The plot revolves around seven young friends in rural Oz who go bush for a few days, only to return home and discover that Australia has been invaded by another country.

The film was much better than I thought it would be. Some friends then suggested I read the books. The books are aimed at a teen audience, but I can pretend to be a bit younger for a while.

Apparently the "Tomorrow" series is comprised of seven books, and is followed up by a further three books, "The Ellie Chronicles". So I have quite a bit of reading ahead of me.

Well, I'm off to get ready, do some exercise and lose even more weight. Bye for now.
