A rare Saturday off together today, so off we went to see The National Motor Museum, located in Birdwood, South Australia.
The Motor Museum is one of those things we have been meaning to tick off our list of things to see and do in and around Adelaide, for a long time.
I could never be described as a "Petrol Head", but do love and appreciate a good quality car. So it was lovely to see an Aussie history of "motors". In addition to the cars and motorbikes, there were old-style buses and even a car in the shape of a telephone. There was also an education centre, and lots to see and do.
We even bought little faux registration plates with our names on them - great keepsakes!
Working up an appetite we discovered a lovely little cottage cafe, called Pomegranate. Just across the road from The Motor Museum, it was just gorgeous. The food and service were great and we ate by a water feature that helped create a calm and pleasant atmosphere.
A great little day out!

Great pics. I've never seen a car museum. I assume there is on in Detroit... maybe several or Indianapolis, but don't know of any here in California. I'm no gear-head either, though so I wouldn't. Now I'm curious.
Thanks for sharing.

Hello Sir!
Yeah, you should have a look around. You might be surprised. We were!
I didn't realise how big the museum would be, or that it was a "National" museum. I thought it was just the token museum of it's kind for our state, until we visited.
We have been here just over two years and we are still discovering new things. It really is surprising what can be found on your own doorstep.
