You may be wondering what I have been up to. Well, the easiest answer would be -
“SPENDING!”
The whole house fiasco is an ongoing trauma. The conveyancers have shown no support and no interest in our situation. The bank are taking no responsibility and claim to know nothing about how this situation arose. The mortgage broker company, equally, has stepped back, claiming to know nothing, stating the broker that was advising us is actually not “employed” by them…
And so the excuses and non answers continue. The story is much more convoluted than this, but anything more than a summary would surely bore you to tears. Currently, however, it looks like we are a few thousand dollars out of pocket.
But the SPENDING has helped. We have bought a brand new car, a new bed, a digital SLR camera and lots of lighting and studio equipment.
I am also looking into doing a few courses, photographic and acting!
Then…there is my smile.
For years, well, as long as I can remember, I have hated my teeth. Hated them! They are dull (discoloured!), chipped, overlapping, protruding…They are awful. When I laugh, I place my hand over my mouth, or I turn away from people.
The problem is that I have a huge fear of the dentist. I know where it comes from, it’s no mystery. As a child, the dentist I visited would give me local anaesthetic, with a HUGE needle, and start work immediately. I had the pain of the needle going into my gums and then the pain of the fillings too. I got to the point where I declined the needle as I saw no benefit. I experienced the pain either way, only later to be numb after the work was completed, having the additional bonus of having anything I tried to drink spill from my mouth, down over my chin. A great look!
I now know that good dentists numb the gums before the needle, with a topical ointment. They then wait til you are numb before they commence the work. Very civilised! I wish my dentists had been half as decent as this.
So, now in my thirties, I have decided enough is enough. I am in the process of having my teeth “brought up to code”, and then I am having them whitened. The beginning of next year will see me commence braces, to have my teeth straightened. I will have that Hollywood smile!
It’s great to face your fears!
Besides, if I am going to be a famous actor one day, I gotta look my best!
Oh, and if you want to look at my photography site, which is still being developed, you can have a peek here.
Hope your having a great day people!
