A Year Of Fast Braces

I have had my braces on now for approximately a year.

It hasn't been a long year. As usual, time appears shorter when looking back than when looking forward.

I'm impressed with the progress my teeth have made, in terms of alignment and position. They still aren't perfect and I wonder if they ever could be. But by all that is good, they are much better than they were.

I'm using the Fast Braces system. I'm told this system is designed in such a way that the teeth will move quicker. For an adult a year isn't a long time to have braces. There were a few months though that saw no real movement. I found this frustrating. But I have faith we are almost at the end of this journey. I'm hoping another couple of months at most and I'll have them off.

So yes, a year! A year of adjustments, of teeth shavings, of many doses of paracetamol and ibuprofen...and a year of acclimatising to having regular dental work. A real feat for someone who was quite phobic about dental treatment.

This video was made just after I had got my braces on.

So after a year this is how my teeth are looking.

What do you think? Have you ever had braces?
