Difficult times

The recruitment of hundreds of Italian and Portuguese workers on the Lindsey Oil Refinery in Lincs is currently causing problems. People are striking because they perceive foreign citizens are being given jobs over British nationals. Sellafield is a site of such striking.
There are also other issue such as a wage dispute.

When there is a world wide economic down turn and unemployment is rising universally, people will tend to be angry and frustrated.

What worries me is that such cultural and political events may be manipulated by the likes of the BNP. I hope people will keep their heads, and use logic. I am concerned that racism could develop and influence people's behaviour and attitudes. I see it happening already.

Hopefully it will be transient, and decorum will return swiftly.
