How very sad.
Wendy Richard (Pauline Fowler from the BBC soap "Eastenders") past away on the 26th of February 2009. Wendy was only 65. She had been diagnosed for the third time with breast cancer in October 2008, and this time she sadly lost her battle.
My thoughts go to her family and her fans, of which we are many. Wendy became a household name even before her 21 years as Pauline in "Eastenders". She was Miss Brahms in "Are you being served?" She appeared in "Dad's Army" and also had a part in "Carry on Matron" in 1972. Due to her long and distinguished career, the British public feel they knew Wendy, and felt very close to her. We have shared many on screen moments with her, dramatic, sad and humorous.
Her many colleagues and fans have great respect and admiration for Wendy, and she will be missed very very much.
A few days before Wendy lost her battle, she sent a message of congratulations and support to Jade (Goody) Tweed, for her recent wedding. Jade, as we all know, has been battling with cancer as well. Unfortunately Wendy had been too ill to attend Jade's wedding.
Cancer affects all our lives. I can only hope for better treatments, and a cure in the not too distant future.
