1st Week In Oz

That is our first week in Oz by.

Still doesn't feel real that we are here.

That we emigrated.

That our lives are here now.

Here are some pictures of our journey here.

This was Sam going between terminals at Heathrow.

Everyone on our plane had their own screen to watch any film they wanted. Very cool.

The tail of a Qantas plane could be glimpsed from this window...

Between flights, Sam noticed this device. It was free!

It massaged our feet and lower legs, and helped the strain of the long journey fade away.

Shock! We landed in Adelaide, to be met by typical Scottish weather.

It was pouring!

The portion sizes here are huge. Here, you can see that the bottles of "pop" are 600ml, not 500ml as they are in Scotland. Also, the KFC large fries was about 3 times the size of a large back home. Sam enjoyed it!

This "minimal" fish and chips was also huge. Look at my delicate hand next to this portion.

We have also had a look about Adelaide, and love it. We couldn't not go to the beach. Even though it is winter here, it was still lovely.

And of course, the city itself. There is so much going on. Bars, restaurants and specialist shops (like the cheesecake shop) line the streets. During the day time, we have seen street entertainers perform.

Great stuff.

Adelaide...could be Tokyo!

Wonder if I should run a caption competition for this pic?

I can't blog about everything we have done as there has just been so much, from organising work stuff, getting to grips with local transport, to trying to basically become familiar with the culture and geography of this beautiful city. We also managed to squeeze in 2 trips to the cinema. We saw Harry Potter and Bruno. Both were excellent, though in completely different ways.

My next blog, though, will be our new car and house!
