Salt

The power of salt!

Everyone tends to have salt in their house, to season food.

But salt (sodium chloride) has a long history in protecting people from evil spirits and demons.

It used to be common for Jews to salt their babies (they taste better) shortly after being born.

In the middle east it was common to place salt into the hands of children on the eve of their 7th day of life. This salt would then be scattered around the home by a midwife who shouts "salt in every envious eye."

The catholic baptism involves salt being placed on the child's lips to rid the child of Satan.

In Sweden they apparently place salt under the child's tongue.

Throughout the world, such practices appear to be common.

Salt (if eating at a table, and how many people do nowadays?) should be placed on the table before the meal is served, to ensure evil is not present when you consume your food.

Bread and salt should be the first items brought into a house when you first move, as it is said to be symbolic that under "this roof" there will always be food, and evil will not be present.

Most people also will have an understanding that salt is used in some wiccan rituals too, again for protection. You can pour it in a ring around you for a "quickie" protective circle.

With all the protective power of salt, why does it do so much damage to your circulatory system? It's affect on blood pressure is now well known. So my advice to you? Have salt, and throw it around all your rooms, sing hymns, dance skyclad, cast out evil, but don't put it on your dinner.

The Devil is sitting on his demonic thrown, flames licking all around, and he says,"More than one way to skin a cat..."
