Sam and I have done so much in 10 short years. I am utterly amazed that we have been together a whole decade. I genuinely can't see where the time went. I feel I have been with Sam for a very short time. Everything still feels fresh for me. I know some other couples are less lucky, and life turns a little stale for them after only a short period of time together.
I definately feel blessed.
To celebrate we went to the Red Ochre Restaurant. It has a great reputation, and I am so pleased to say it is well deserved.
From the moment we arrived, I felt valued as a customer and as a person. The staff made a real effort to establish rapport, but it seemed effortless for them.
The bar tender shared with us that his family were from an area only a few miles from our home in Scotland. He made the best cocktails. He did a taste test for each one, and seemed to love his job. I wouldn't be surprised if he was drunk by the end of the night. A very pleasant gentleman!
We had quite a few cocktails, such as Strawberry Daiquiri's, Nutty Wattle's and Cupid's Kiss'. The bar tender even gave us some shots of vodka, on the house.
I had an oven baked chicken breast, with herbs and veggies. Sam had a T-bone steak. On the side, we shared some steak cut fries and gorgeous garlic mushrooms.
Dessert was a true delight, with myself choosing a white chocolate parfait. Sam opted for callebaut chocolate fondant.
The meals were excellent, as was the service. We were so glad we chose to go to the Red Ochre for our meal. I need to be clear and say that we are not being paid to recommend this restaurant. It just deserves to be acknowledged as a wonderful place for a meal.
Oh, and I didn't mention the view! We had a window table. The restaurant sits over the river Torrens, with wonderful views of Adelaide city, as night crept in. A really wonderful atmosphere was created by the natural setting.
So our 10 years together was celebrated in style. A good start to the next 10!
