Nutella, Insomnia And The Garden

A couple of days ago we got a man in to do the garden.

I am not green fingered at all. I used to have this romantic notion that I could be, if only I had the right garden. Or if only I had more time. Or if only...

Needless to say I have a lot of excuses. I used to even say, repeatedly, to anyone who would listen, that I would love a herb garden. Ha! Now I have one, and hardly even notice it.

So the gardens to the front and rear of the house were over grown. Weeds were everywhere. Neglect screamed from every corner.

We got the man to take it all back to a bare existance. Weeds, bushes...almost everything is gone. The rose bushes at the front, and herbs at the back are still there. But wow. Everything looks so much better.

We will go along to the local plant shop and get a few nice, easy to look after (preferably zero maintenance) shrubs and flowers. The garden will be pretty. It will be.

Insomnia.

I thought at about 11.45pm tonight, I might try and get some sleep. So I climbed as quietly as I could into bed, trying not to disturb Sam.

He was awake anyway. Well kinda. That sort of half awake, but really not state that people can swing in and out of.

I tried to sleep for a short time. I knew it was pointless, but I did try.

So, after a while, in hushed tones, the conversation went thus -

Me: Will I go get the nutella?

Sam: ...ugh...what?....why?

Me: So you can lick it off my body.

Sam: I'm not hungry...

Great!

So I got up,admitted defeat to the insomnia, and an hour later, I am here, posting this entry to my blog!

Thank goodness for blogging. What do non-bloggers do when they can't sleep?

That is a good question...

I suppose I am saving myself a fortune by not having to wear away the carpet, by pacing all night.
