Beastie War Update

The beasties are still in and around my house. Though, it is worth noting, they appear in lesser numbers than before.

A few days ago I bought a "surface spray", after finding another cockroach. I found this one in my en suite toilet / shower room.

I wish I had bought this months ago. I sprayed it over skirting boards, on shelves, in cupboards, over nearly every inch of my house. I awoke the next day to find death and devastation...to the beasties. There were spiders and various insects lying dead around the house. I feel this is definately progress.

The ants are still out in the garden. I even tried baby powder a few days ago, as the poisoned powder doesn't seem to have much of a lasting effect. I sprinkled some baby powder on to the lawn, and the white powder literally stood up, and walked off in a million different directions. There are more ants than I had realised!

In addition, the beasties seem to have new recruits. Crickets! They are gathering closer to the house, growing louder as the nights pass by. If they keep a respectful distance they will be safe. However, I fear further bloodshed is unavoidable.

War is not supposed to be easy.

LOL! You are so cute! I hope you didn't over-fumigate yourself. What kind of ants are they? Baby powder doesn't work but it makes your lawn smell good...LOL. I know some organic methods don't work and some synthetics don't either...some do. Not sure what your regulations are over Down Under. Sometimes citric acid or vinegar works on smaller ants, but vinegar kill plants...most of them too. Don't put it on or near precious plants or lawn. Good weed killer. Boric acid is good on our red ants out here, but it is expensive and yucky. Sometimes peroxide works...check the internet and locals. They might have a better story. Maybe you need an aardvark.I hope you don't get overtaken...I like your stories.

The ants are black, some small, and some HUGE.

I might try the vinegar. I have already tried the boric acid powder from my local shop. Didn't help much. Slowed them down, but didn't stop them.

And now I have red thread stuff coming out of my shower head...

Anyway. So how much are aardvark's these days?

Hmm...good question. I'm not sure the price. I wish they could live here, I would get one. LOL. I feel your pain...have red ants that bite out here and make HUGE sandhills...they're everywhere, they're everywhere. YIKES! I wish you well in your battle.

I think we should get the governments of the world involved. They might not realise how bad the problem is. Seriously.

2012, end of the world stuff, might be to do with the beasties!

Yeah, I will continue with the beastie war. I feel like Rambo - a lone, misunderstood warrior.
