Lindsay Lohan Will Not Go To The Ball / Goodbye Alexander McQueen

Richard Lugner, a 77 year old Austrian billionaire, was apparently going to pay Lindsay Lohan $150,000 to acompany him to the Vienna Ball.

He is reported as previously making similar deals with Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson, Dita Von Teese and so on and so on.

He pays for companionship. A date. But no sex. It isn't a "John" paying a "street walker". Lines blur so easily when so much money is on the table...

Anyway. Lugner stated he was no longer taking Lohan along as his date, to the Ball. Perhaps she had had a change of heart, as there had reportedly been a "contractual" agreement that she was to go nowhere near any alcohol at all. Lindsay Lohan, at a party, sober? Was it ever going to play out like that?

He took Dieter Bohlen, a German singer and entertainer, instead.

A sad farewell to British designer Alexander McQueen.

His mother had died on 2nd February. A week later, Alexander is reported to have killed himself, the day before his mother's funeral. He was found hanging by his cleaner on 11th of February. He was only 40 years old.

Alexander had previously worked with Givenchy as Head Designer for 5 years, before establishing his own labels. Regularly referred to as a "Fashion Legend", he had won British Designer Of The Year 4 times, had boutiques in London, New York, L.A., Milan and Las Vegas, and has his designs worn by many of our society's elite.

My thoughts are with his loved ones in this sad time.

In the world of high fashion, McQueen will be sadly missed. He was so out there, so clever and so out of the box.

Yeah! He was. If Lady Gaga liked his designs, I would say he had to be on the cutting edge. Also referred to as the "Bad Boy" of fashion. He sounded like he would have been a lot of fun to know.

IT's a sad day for the world in general and the fashion world in particular. RIP Alexander.

As for LiLo - I alternate between pity and contempt. The girl needs serious help.

Must be hard at the top. And she was very young when she got there.

I feel sympathy for child stars at times too. They need to tread such a fine line, to retain any sort of sanity and grounding.
