The "D" Word
Diet.
There. I said it. Ouch.
I have posted about my weight before. But I have put even more weight on. And it's awful.
I don't eat a lot. But I know I eat the wrong things. I love all those naughty things, like cake, fast food, potatoes, pasta, curry and chips. And I enjoy jelly sweets. Yes I do. I enjoy them. I miss Haribo. It is a pleasure to eat them, and all their sugary, fruity goodness (or not).
It is common sense, apparently. Eat less. Eat better. Move more.
Commencing a new job recently, I was supposed to be supplied with a uniform. That hasn't been as easy as you might think. Basically (though it is one of those stories that can be as long as you like) I have been waiting for my uniform for almost 6 weeks. I did get trousers, but they are too tight.
The thing is, and I know this will sound awful, but I still look good. Maybe being fat suits me. In some cultures, being overweight, is attractive. It implies you are affluent, and that you can afford to indulge in excesses and luxuries.
Anyway, I don't belong to one of those cultures. And I don't feel comfortable with myself. So here we go.
Diet.
I said it again.
Today I had an apple and two bananas at work. To drink, I had water and coffee. When I came home, I had some pumpkin soup that Sam made today. It was lovely. I also had half a twirl. That isn't bad, is it?
Also, a few nights ago, we picked up some free weights from a lady, giving them away for free. You may or may not have a "Freecycle" website in your area. It is a good idea. To save money, and the environment, this website allows people the opportunity to give unwanted items to people who have use for them.
Wonderful.
So, via "Freecycle", we got in touch with this lady. They are only 1kg weights, but every little helps, and I will take all the help I can get. I can use them for when I jog (on the spot) .
Ideally, if things were to go well, I would like to lose maybe 40 kg. I currently weigh just over 120kg.
So starts the DIET.

Ugh. I hear ya!
But I have been good for 3 weeks and I feel much better. Even if the scale doesn't say so. Eating better and working out has helped!
Diets don't work because they're proved that depriving yourself of food leads to eating more.
What does work is changing what you eat.
Going for a 20 minute walk a day is easy and really makes a difference.
I love all the stuff you mentioned and when I cut it all out, drop about 4 pounds. Then I get all happy and start eating it all again. I'm not overweight but some clothes are snuggish!
Good Luck!
