A drive to Glenelg is always a pleasure, especially on days like today, when the Sun is smiling down on Adelaide, people are strolling lazily along and everyone is making the most of the public holiday.
Glenelg was busy.
Glenelg, for me, is a lot like Troon back home in Ayrshire - very much a tourist town. Having those memories triggered is lovely.
Cars were competing for parking spaces. People were huddled into cafes and restaurants. We couldn't walk along any stretch of pavement without having to manoeuvre around friends and lovers, sharing food and ice cream. Trams, almost silently, rumbled past. There was a nice vibe to the place, a "holiday" atmosphere.

Sam's Pulling A Face! |
I had old reliable Fish 'n' Chips, and Sam had yet more chips, with a chicken burger.
We purchased our meals from "Chips - Gourmet and Take Away", on Jetty Road, Glenelg. To be honest, the food looked rather average, but actually tasted great.
I'm glad we stopped there.

We had ate our food, sitting in the window of the cafe, people-watching. Those people occasionally watched us back. My guilt, with eating something I knew I shouldn't be, coupled with being so blatant about it, showcasing my naughtiness in the cafe window for public consumption, felt almost pornographic. Sitting there, the way we were, made me feel all we were missing was a red bulb and some poorly spelt advertising offering some rather adult services. And I have never been to Amsterdam!
But it wasn't long til it was over and we were on our way again.

You're funny! Dont worry about a yummy treat on a Sunday spent by the beach, you still have to enjoy life and those simple pleasures at times. We cant always stick to a rigid diet all the time, its boring and unsatisfying! Anyway, I think it's good to trick your fat cells every few weeks even, and going off track for a few weeks every few months is almost like creating your own plateuas I would often enjoy a bit of chockie but maybe go for an extra bit of a stroll down the beach perhaps. I'd love to taste the chocolate in Amsterdam!!!
Ah beautiful Lynda! Yeah, I can see your wisdom! I think you are right.
