How Can Words Be Ugly?

Even The Words Seem Ugly

ebb and flow, its all go go go
living oblivious, living frivolous
60 seconds and reality is so so so

wisdom in knowing future casts a shadow on us all,
whispering for us to trip,
tempting us to fall
standing like a rock, finding yourself on your knees,
clutching your guts as they spill over the floor,

screaming in despair, "please, please, please",

no one hears, from beyond the ivory doorenthusiasm haemorrhages, your soul in deficit
darkness sets in
cant hear your own voice among the din
choice becomes sin

disowned by life, when drowning in strife
words suddenly seem so ugly

you feel ugly

you just want to be free
you just want to be safe
you just want to be loved

you want the abuse to end,
to feel like you don't offend

head held high, betrayed by a downward glance

hoping, praying, investing your all,

just for the chanceblood on the walls, living in stained overalls
purity an illusion, integrity a lie,

should it be this hard?

"Sigh"

it's all a facade, nothing more, nothing less

why?

well, that's anyone's guess

in knots, bare, raw, flawed and damaged,
the saint pleads on bended knee to the sinner
he can't be a loser if there isn't a winner

Phew. This one knocked me out a bit. Great work, but... just phew. Are you OK? You seem overwhelmed. Anyway, take care. Hope things are better for you today.

Cheers,

Casey
